Mapping a content page to a landing page

In this step, you place links to content pages on the landing pages. You place each link in a specific section of the landing page. For pre-built landing pages and content pages that are based on pre-built templates, the process involves adding a meta tag to the content page that tells it on which landing page and which section to display the link.

You must know the number of the section where you want the link to display.

Content pages that are created from templates are tagged to their corresponding pre-built landing pages. The Subject data item on the content page matches the Subject tag on the landing page. This data item is preset, based on the preset landing page tags and the data items of the content page template that was used when the content page was created. You should not need to change the value of the Subject data item..

You configure the Section data item on the content page to place the link on the page and in the appropriate section. The value of the Section data item is the number that corresponds to one of nine sections on the landing page. That number preceded by the subject of the landing page and an underscore e.g., vacations_2. In other words, add an underscore and a number to the Section tag.

  1. Access the document manager.
  2. Click the page that you want to edit. If the page is not checked out by another user, the system checks it out, and it is ready for editing. If the page is checked out by another user, you are not permitted to check it out until it is checked in again.
  3. With the page checked out, click the document title drop-down and select Data Items.
  4. Click the section data item.
  5. Specify the section number to the end of the pre-built tag in this format: subject_# e.g., vacations_2.
  6. Click OK.
  7. Close the Configure Data Items menu. Check in and publish the page.
