Opening a cash bank

Open a cash bank to initiate the use of a cash bank by a casheir or front desk personnel during a particular shift.

To open a cash bank:

  1. Select Front Desk > Cashier Banking.
  2. On the List View tab, double-click the cash bank record to work with. The Open Bank tab is displayed.
  3. Click Open Bank. A message is displayed asking to confirm whether you want to open this bank. Click Yes to continue and open the bank. Click No to cancel. The cash bank is opened and the cash journal for the bank is activated. Assigned To is also populated with the user's name and Bank Use Status is set to Currently In Use.
    Note: If a shared bank is opened, the Assigned To field is enabled, and you must specify the user to whom the shared bank is assigned.
