Lost Business Report
This report lists lost business for the specified date range. When the reservation process begins and is not completed a lost business reason is recorded along with details about the lost guest stay. The report can be run in summary view or in detail view. The report can be run using the date option of arrival date, lost business date, or stay date. In summary view the report includes one of the following depending on the sort option used; reason, arrival date, lost business date, or market segment. Then the report gives the quantity and percentage per sort option used, then total lines for each. In detail view the report includes more guest stay details per sort option used, then gives a summary total for rooms, nights, and number of guests.
You can filter the report by user, lost business reason, market segment, rate plan, and room type. Lost business reason and rate plan fields are multi select. You can sort the report by arrival date, lost business date, lost business reason, or market segment.
The following are some of the important points to be noted:
- If multiple report parameters are entered and at least one value is in conflict with another value, no records will be returned.
- If a Reservation Stay record exists for the same property for the same Guest Profile Id and the arrival date is less than the departure date of the lost business record and the departure date is greater than the lost business arrival date, then the guest made a reservation for the same time period. New Reservation is checked.
- This report uses the lost business table which captures information when a guest stay record is not completed. For this reason, not all columns in the record may contain a value. The report will mark the record as '***' if it contains no value for the column used for the report sorting or grouping.
These calculations are performed:
- No. of Guests = Adults + Children
- Nights = Departure Date - Arrival Date
- Quantity Total = Total of Quantity column
- Percentage Total = Total of Percentage column (should equal 100%)
- Total Rooms = Summary of Rooms column
- Total Nights = Summary of Nights column
- No. of Guest Totals = Summary of Total Adults / Total Children columns
