Configuring owner room rotation point rules

Use the Owner Room Rotation Point Rules page to configure rules for calculating points for owner room rotation. Rules are configured to apply by date range, apply to a specified stay type, and can only apply on specific days of the week or day of the week patterns. You can optionally apply a rule only to one or many room types. Points can be awarded by stay type per nights, per stay, or per each whole amount of revenue for a specific transaction group.

On shares the rules that award points per stay or per night are applied to the share master. The rules that award points per revenue will total revenue for all the share components, but the stay type of the share master is used.

The page displays a row for each rule. You can select a rule, then click the Actions button and select one of the following options:

  • Room Summary: Click to bring up the Room Rotation Room Summary page. The room summary grid will display rooms that are active for the rules. If no rule is selected, the room summary grid will display rooms that are active for the current period. If there is no current point period and there is no selected point period, the screen does not show any rooms.
  • Period Configuration: Click to bring up the Point Period Configuration page.
  • Re-calculate: Click to re-calculate.

To configure room rotation rules:

  1. Administration > Property > Rooms > Owner Room Rotation Point Rules.
  2. In the Rotation Rules Details section, click New Record.
  3. Specify the information that you require. See additional details about these fields:
    Rule Type
    Specify the rule type. Options include:
    • Per Night: Selecting this option will apply the number of Points specified to be applied on each night of the guests stay.
    • Per Stay: Selecting this option will apply the number of Points specified to be applied per stay based on the guest arrival.
    • Per 1$ Revenue: Selecting this option will cause Transaction Group to become required. The number of points specified will be applied for every whole unit of revenue charged for all transactions in the transaction group.
    Apply Average to Owners
    This checkbox is only allowed for revenue rule types with the stay type Guest. When selected the system average the points that were awarded per room type and then will apply the average number of points to all guest stays with stay types Ownerand Owner Guest for the same room type that were in-house. The system calculates the average by taking the total revenue amount and dividing it by the number of guest stays for the room type.
  4. Click Save Record.
