Establishing overall channel allocations

You can use the Overall Channel Allocation page to set the number of rooms that can be sold at each property using available Sales Channels. This option allows properties the opportunity to open or restrict business via certain sales channels depending on the current business climate.

Channel Status is indicated as follows:

  • : Overall Control.
  • : Room Type Control.
  • : Rate Plan Control.
  • : Package Plan Control.
  • : Promotion Control.

To set up overall channel control:

  1. Select Rate and Sales > Revenue Management > Channel Allocation.
  2. Expand the row for the property you wish to set up overall channel control.
    Note: In the Property Search section, select the location in the location filter or the search criteria to locate the property to set up channel allocations for, and then click Search where multiple properties exist.
  3. Select the channel link.
  4. Click Overall Control.
  5. Specify the following information:
    Status
    Select status of Open or Closed.
    Start Date
    Specify the date on which the allocations start.
    End Date
    Specify the date on which the allocations end.
    Allocation Pattern
    • Full Date Range: The allocations are applied to the entire range that you specify in the Start Date and End Date fields.
    • Day of Month: Specify the days of the month on which the allocations must be applied.
    • Day of Week: Specify the days of the week on which the allocations must be applied.
    Free Sell
    Select the check box to allow free sell of the rooms by the channels.
    Allocation or % of Available Rooms
    Specify the allocation number of rooms, or the percent of available rooms to allocate.
    Min House
    Specify the minimum allocation to the house.
  6. Click Save.
