Setting global booking restrictions on rate plans

Use the Global Booking Restrictions page to set booking restrictions on standard rate plans. Restrictions are set by a specified rate period. The restrictions set here will apply to at the global level for all properties using the rate. A rate period start date is the beginning date and the rate continues until the next rate period's start date. Occupancy is calculated for each day of the stay.

This functionality was developed for the military to limit bookings for "Space A" reservations.

To set global booking restrictions on a standard rate plan:

  1. Select Rate and Sales > Pricing > Global Booking Restrictions.
  2. Select the rate plan by clicking the Action button for the rate plan. Specify the information that you require. A rate period start date is the beginning date and the rate continues until the next rate period's start date.
    Maximum Length of Stay

    Specify the maximum length of stay. Length of Stay is arrival date based. First, the system will validate the length of stay. The system will look for an effective period that covers the arrival date. If the number of nights requested exceeds the maximum length of stay the reservation request will be rejected. If the stay spans two effective periods, the effective period of the arrival date is used.

    Min Occupancy

    Specify the minimum occupancy percentage. The maximum occupancy number is set by the next minimum occupancy percentage entered.

    Max Lead Time

    Specify the maximum number of days that must be available between the current date and the arrival date. To make a reservation, the difference between the current date and the arrival date must be less than or equal to the maximum lead-time. If you leave this field blank, there is no restriction and you can use the rate plan to create a reservation for date far away in the future. The maximum lead time is calculated as an inclusive number, so if the stay date being evaluated is May 15th, and the maximum lead time is set as 5, the guest may make the reservation on May 10th, but not on May 9th. The maximum lead time is checked on a date by date basis. If a guest is staying for five days, each stay date is validated independently.
