Specifying dates and times in fields

The current date and time are entered automatically into some date fields; however, you can manually enter or edit dates and times using keyboard shortcuts, or you can use the calendar to select a date.

To specify dates using the calendar:

  1. Click the calendar button next to a date field.
  2. Select the month and year in the drop-down lists at the top of the calendar. You can use the up and down arrows to change the month and year.
  3. Click the desired date on the calendar.

To specify dates using keyboard shortcuts, click the date field and then use one of the following options:

    • To specify the current date, press the space bar.
    • To display the calendar from which to select a date, press F9.
    • To specify a specific or partial date, type the date using numeric keys (for example, 7511) and then press Tab to exit the field. The system evaluates the date and displays the closest match in the required format, such as 07/05/2011.
Note: To change the date while the cursor is in the date field, you can press the + key to add a day or the - key to subtract a day.
