Comparing revenue calculations among reports

When determining revenue categories, room revenue verses other revenue for example, certain reports use the Transaction Type configured on the transaction code used to post the revenue while other reports use the Revenue Type configured on the transaction code.

Reports using transaction type:

  • Posting Journal
  • Transaction Totals

Reports using revenue type:

  • Flash Report
  • Hotel Ledger
  • Hotel Ledger Comparison
  • Hotel Statistics
  • Hotel Statistics Comparison
  • Multi-Revenue Report
  • Occupancy Report
  • Revenue Report

Some reports have a report option to include or exclude revenue from House type accounts (non-guest room account revenue), other reports automatically contain all revenue regardless of the account type. When using reports to balance a user needs to be sure they are consistent with house account comparisons when running reports. For example if one report that automatically contains house account revenue is compared with a report that has the option of containing it, then that report when run must have the option to include house accounts checked to also include house account revenue.
