E-mail notification setup for messenger

You can use the messenger to notify the users through e-mail about specific changes in the database tables. You can set up e-mail notifications when specific events occur in the database. You can create e-mail notifications for a defined table based on an e-mail template. You can define the parameters and constraints of each e-mail notification.

To create e-mail notifications for messenger:

  1. Select Administration > E-Mail Messenger > E-mail Notification Setup.
  2. Specify the table for which you want to create the e-mail notification.
  3. Click Add E-Mail Notification.
  4. In the Trigger Details section specify this information:
    E-Mail Template
    Specify the e-mail template that you want to use to send the e-mail. The system automatically populates the template description and Created Byfield.
    Update
    Select the check box to send an e-mail in case a record is updated.
    Insert
    Select the check box to send an e-mail in case a database table is updated with a new record.
    Active

    Select the check box to make the selected record active. The system may clear this checkbox if you add, modify, or delete parameters or conditions.

    Delete
    Select the check box to send an e-mail when a record is deleted.
    Created By
    Displays the user name who created the template.
    Include URL
    Select the check box to send an e-mail that includes the uniform resource locator (URL) of the table.
    Comments
    Specify the comments that must be sent in the e-mail.
  5. Click Save to add the record.
