rolling release

A method by which a group's unused room block (no picked up) is returned back into general availability. When a group is set to release blocks by rolling release, a number of days is specified, the number of days represents how many days before the block date that the unused rooms for that block date will be released. For example GROUP ABC arriving 11/15 and departing 11/17 with a block of 20 rooms on 11/15 and block of 20 rooms on 11/16, on both days 10 reservations made against block (pickups). If I set the release date to 11/5 then on 11/5 the blocks for both dates will be dropped (given back to general availability). If I set the release to rolling and specify 2 days, then the 11/15 unused blocks will be dropped on 11/13 and the 11/16 unused blocks will be dropped on 11/14. The groups using rolling release method are generally travel group wholesalers who have contracts with the hotel, the group members don't necessarily know each other.
