Upsell Management

Use the Upsell Management screen to configure and manage the upsells for the guest.

The application can be configured for the Upsell functionality by associating rate plans and selecting an item as a daily Add-on item for a reservation.

At any given time, there can be multiple active upsell configurations if the associated rate plan is not active with another upsell configuration. You can assign an upsell configuration as the default upsell for the rate plans that aren’t associated to another active upsell configuration.
Note: There can only be one active default.

The screen comprises of these sections:

  • Upsell details: This section allows you to configure upsell details, and associate rate plans with the upsell.
  • Display to Guest: This section allows you to add the room type category, targeted percentage and the add-on items that are displayed to the guest. This helps the guest in Upsell selection.
  • Associated Rate Plan: This section displays the rate plans associated with the upsell.

An Add-on qualifies for an upsell and is displayed to the guest, only if:

  • The Add-on is configured for an Active Upsell Configuration and is associated with a reservation.
  • The Add-on is valid for the dates between the Guest Arrival Date and Guest Departure Date.
  • When the Add-on is configured with inventory and there is availability for the dates of the stay.

For example, if a rollaway bed is configured with 10 during one day of the guest stay and a rollaway bed is not available, the rollaway bed add-on is not displayed to the guest during the online check-in.

If the currency associated with the guest is other than the property currency, the exchange rate is used to display the add-on value in the currency of the guest.

This screen is used by the revenue manager.
