Configuring the Upsell

  1. Select Rates and Sales > Revenue Management > Upsell Management. The Record View of the Upsell Management screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information in the Upsell Details section:
    Upsell Configuration
    The code of the Upsell that is configured for the guest.
    Note: This field is enabled only when a new Upsell record is added.
    Status
    The status of the Upsell plan. Possible values:
    • Inactive
    • Active
    Note: 
    • By default, the status is set to Inactive. However, you can modify the value.
    • You can set this value to Active only if:
      • The values are specified in all the mandatory fields.
      • A rate plan with Active status is associated with the Upsell.
      • No other upsell configuration is Active. Only one Upsell configuration can be Active, at a time.
    Item
    The item linked to the Upsell plan.
    Discount Percentage
    The percentage of discount offered by the hotel to the guest, for the Upsell.
    Note: By default, the value is 0. However, you can specify a value in the range of 0 to 99.
    Rate Reason
    The reason based on which the rate is defined for the Upsell plan.
    Min Upsell
    The minimum value for the Upsell (associated with the rate plan) that is applicable for the guest.
    Note: By default, the value is 1. However, you can specify a value in the range of 1 to 99999.
    Max Upsell
    The maximum value of the upsell plan that is applicable for the guest.
    Note: You can specify a value in the range of 1 to 99999.
    Require User Password
    Select this check box to indicate that a user password is required to add the Upsell to a Reservation.
    Round By
    The option based on which the upsell add-on amounts are rounded, after calculation. Possible Values:
    • Up: The amount must be rounded up to the next consecutive integer.
    • Down: The amount must be rounded down to the next consecutive integer.
    • Nearest: The amount is rounded up or down to the nearest integer.
    • Up, Ending With: The amount is rounded up to the specific amount ending with the configured value.
    • Down, Ending With: The amount is rounded down to the specific amount including (ending with) the configured value.
    • Nearest, Ending With: The amount is rounded to the nearest specific amount including (ending with) the configured value.

    Amount
    The amount of the add-ons that are selected for the Upsell.
    Calculation Rate Plan
    The rate plan used to calculate the Upsell recommendation.
    Default
    Select this check box to consider the upsell configuration as the default.
    Note: There can only be one associated rate plan in the Associated Rate Plans field when default is selected.
  3. Click the Associate Rate Plan option in the Guest Detail section to select rate plans for the Upsell.
    Note: 
    • The associated rate plans are displayed in the Associated Rate Plan section of this screen.
    • You can associate multiple rate plans for an Upsell.
    • You can use the Remove Rate Plan option in the Action menu to remove a rate plan, if required.
  4. Click Save.
  5. Specify this information in the Display to Guest section:
    Room Type Category (1 and 2)
    The category of the room types that are displayed to the guest for the Upsell selection.
    Targeted Percentage (1 and 2)
    The discount percentage associated with the room type category displayed to the guest.
    Note: You can specify a value in the range of 0 to 99.
    Add-on
    The add-ons that are displayed to the guest for the Upsell selection.
    Note: You can also upload the image of the add-on.
    Note: The data in the Record Details section is defaulted based on the user who creates or modifies the Upsell record and the date when the record is created or modified.
  6. Click the Comments tab to add, edit or delete the additional comments related to the Upsell record.
  7. Click the Documents tab to add, edit or delete the related documents for the Upsell record.
  8. 8. Click the Translation tab to add, edit or delete the languages in which the data of the upsell record is displayed.
