Defining currencies for hotels

  1. Select Administration > Currency > Maintain Currency. The Maintain Currency screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information in the Currency Status section:
    Currency Status
    The status of the currency. Possible values:
    • Active
    • Inactive
    Note: You cannot set the Status to Inactive if the currency is used by a property that is active on the Property Configuration screen.
    Corporate Currency
    Select this check box to indicate the currency as a corporate currency.
    Note: 
    • You must select a corporate currency on the Property Configuration screen.
    • An active property on the Property Configuration screen must have only one currency as the Corporate Currency.
    Official Exchange Rate Currency
    Select this check box to indicate that the currency is used for Detracciones (invoicing method) in Peru.
    Note: You can select this check box only for one currency record.
    Property Home Currency
    Select this check box to indicate the currency as a home currency.
  3. Specify this information in the Currency Details section:
    Code
    The code of the currency.
    ISO Numeric
    The ISO code specific to the currency.
    Name
    The name of the currency.
    Description
    The description of the currency.
    Symbol
    The symbol of the currency.
    Digits After Decimal
    The number of digits allowed, after the decimal point.
    Currency Positive Format
    The format used to display the currency of the amount with positive value.
    Note: 
    • By default, the value is set to $1.1.
    • You cannot modify the value of an existing record.
    Currency Negative Format
    The format used to display the currency of the amount with negative value.
    Note: 
    • By default, the value is set to -$1.1.
    • You cannot modify the value of an existing record.
    Grouping Symbol
    The symbol is used to group the digits as per place value.
    Decimal Symbol
    The symbol used to represent the decimal in the amount.
    For Example:If the values for these fields are:

    Positive Format $1.1
    Negative Format -$1.1
    Grouping Symbol ,
    Decimal Symbol .
    Then the amounts are displayed as
    • €1,000.00
    • €100.00
    • -€100.00
    • -€1,000.00
  4. Specify this information in the Rounding Details section:
    Rounding Cash Bank Name
    The method used to round off the rate adjustment calculation amount. Available options:
    • Nearest: Rounds the amount to the nearest value of the amount.
    • Up: Rounds the amount to the higher value of the rounding amount.
    • Down: Rounds the amount to the lower value of the rounding amount.
    • Nearest Multiple of: Rounds the amount to the multiple of the rounding amount.
    • Up, Multiple of: Rounds the amount to the higher multiple values of the rounding amount.
    • Down, Multiple of: Rounds the amount to the lower multiple values of the rounding amount.
    • Center Point: The amount that is the midpoint of the rounding amount multiple.
    Payment Rounding Amount
    The amount used to round off the rate adjustment calculation amount.
    For Example:

  5. Click Save.
    Note: The values of the Record Details section fields are defaulted.
