Configuring comp authorizer departments

Use the Department Configuration page to configure comp authorizer departments. Each comp authorizer can be linked to one or more departments. The menu path given below is just an example. You must add the screen to the desired menu.

To configure comp authorizer departments:

  1. Select Administration > Property > Comp Accounting > Department Configuration.
  2. Click New Record.
  3. Specify this information:
    Department
Specify the comp department code and description.
    Lump Sum Comp Transaction
Specify the lump sum comp transaction code that allows the user to comp a lump sum amount. For example, instead of comping a specific charge, like room charge, the user can specify an amount to credit the guests folio. For example, you want to give the guest a $50.00 lump sum credit on their bill. This lump sum credit reduces the amount the guest owes by $50, but it does not comp a specific charge.
    Department Offset Transaction
Specify the offset transaction code. The offset transaction is posted to a guest folio as a credit to reduce the folio balance and transfers the comped charges to the comp folio. The offset transaction reduces the overall guest ledger balance and increases the comp ledger balance.
    Status
Specify Active to use the department.
    Default for Comp Type
The default Comp Type for the department to which the charges are comped.
Note: The Admin Comp type requires an authorization code.
  4. Click Save Record to add the record.
