Setting up field level security and manager authorization requirements

You can set up the field level security that requires the manager to specify their user ID and password to authorize the changes that a user wants to make to a particular field or event. For example, using an outdated rate plan or reserving a room with booking restrictions. Set up the following property parameters to implement the authorization requirements:

Parameter Type Description Default Value
AUTHRTOVRD Flag Require Authorization for Rate Override. If this check box is selected, overriding a rate value in the stay wizard screen will require manager authorization. No
AUTHDNMOVRD Flag Require Authorization to override a Do Not Move. If this check box is selected, deselecting the Do Not Move check box on the Guest Stay page will require manager authorization. No
AUTHSOOVRD Flag Require Authorization to override a sell option restriction. If this check box is selected, saving a guest stay with a sell option that is unavailable will require manager authorization. No

Set up the following parameters for a manager authorized to override the field level security in the Administration > Security > User Setup screen:

Parameter Type Description Default Value
Allow Field Level Override Authorization Flag If this check box is selected, the user is authorized to override the field level security. No
Ignore Field Level Override Authorization Flag If this check box is selected, the Override Authorization pop-up is not displayed. No

Set up the following parameter in case of a user for whom the Override Authorization pop-up must not be displayed. Use the Administration > Security > User Setup screen to set up this parameter.

Parameter Type Description Default Value
Ignore Field Level Override Authorization Flag If this check box is selected, the Override Authorization pop-up is not displayed. No

For all other users, the Override Authorization window is displayed when they try to update a particular field or event protected by field level security.
