Creating room type categories

Use the Room Type Categories screen to create room type categories to group similar room types.

To create room type categories:

  1. Select Administration > Property > Rooms > Room Type Categories.The Room Type Categories screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information in the Room Type Category Details section:
    Room Type Category
    The code and name of the room type category.
    Description
    The description of the room type category.
    Status
    The status of the room type category.
    Cost Center
    The cost center associated with the room type category.
    Note: 
    • This field is hidden by default.
    • The value in this field is used for Cash Reconciliation Report and Extract.
    Assessed Value
    The manually configured assessed amount for each room type category. This value is used to calculate the Surcharge or Assessment amount in reports.
  3. Click Submit.
    Note: To modify a room type category, select the room type category from the list and in the Room Type Category Details section make the edit, then click Save.
