Gender management
In case of US Military which uses the Gender Management functionality, the property parameter Gender Manage Rooms check box is selected. If this check box is selected, the system does not allow the guests of different genders to occupy the rooms that are connected or share the same bath room. The type of the bath room must be set to Shared.
You can use the Room Configuration screen to associate a room to a Bath room. If required, you can associate several rooms to the same Bath room. After one of these rooms that share the same bath room, is assigned to a guest, the system does not allow a guest of a different gender to occupy the other connected room. These rooms are considered not available for the other gender and cannot be selected for a guest of different gender. If the room being assigned is associated to a bath that is associated to a room assigned to the same gender, the room assignment is permitted.
For a day use room, the system excludes the arrival date of reservation for rooms that are associated using a shared bath. For example, if we have a female day use reservation for 07/14. The room assigned is room 101 and it has a shared bath with room 102. If 102 can be assigned to a male reservation can be determined based on the arrival date. If the guest assigned to room 102 is arriving on 7/14, then there is no restriction. If the guest is arriving prior to 7/14 and 7/14 is a stay through date (not day use or departure date), then the room assignment is restricted.
There can be a scenario where checking-in a guest or moving an In-House guest to a new room can be prevented due to a guest of opposite gender who is supposed to check-out shortly but has not checked-out yet. This scenario is possible when the room being assigned to the guest who is checking-in is associated to a bath room that is shared by a room assigned to the opposite gender, who has not checked-out yet. In this case the guest cannot check-in until the other guest is checked out.
