Configuring room keys
Configure the parameters to manage the room key cutters. Specify designations for access areas such as pools, spas, exercise rooms, and outside doors.
To configure room keys for properties:
- Select Administration > Property > Rooms > Room Key Configuration.
- On the List View tab, double-click the property record with which to work. The property Record View tab is displayed.

In the PARAMETERS section, specify this information:
- Interface is Active
- Select to access the room key cutters on this interface.
- Interface Manages Cutters
- Select to manage the room key cutters on this interface.
- Require Key Generation
- If this check box is selected, the key generation is required before checking in a guest.
- Key Generation Only Allowed for In-House
- If this check box is selected, the keys to be generated are only allowed for the guest with In-House reservation status.
- Attempt Copy First
- Select this check box to check and copy the existing room key
before generating a new room key in HMS. Note:
- By default, a new key is generated when no key is copied.
- When this check box selected, the Add option in the Generate Keys window indicates that a new room key is added and not updated.
- Support Manually Generated Keys
- If this check box is selected, the manually generated keys are supported by the interface.
- Default Key Count
- Select a default number of keys to configure for each room.
- Default Arrival Time
- Specify the default arrival time.
- Default Departure Time
- The guest’s departure time in hours.
- Key Vendor
- The code of the key vendor associated with multiple rooms. The Key Vendor must be specified, if KEYVENDORREQ parameter is selected.
- Key Vendor Direct Interface
- If this check box is selected, the Manage Guest Keys window is displayed when you click the Manage Guest Keys icon on the Check-In, Guest Profile, Guest Stay and Stay 360 screens for the key generation process.
- Selec Room Access. The Room Access tab is displayed.

Specify this information in the Room Access
Areas section:
- Access Area 1
- The designation for an access area. For example,
Pool for Access Area 1. Note: Infor HMS supports up to 20 access areas. Access Area 11 thru Access Area 20 are hidden by default.
- Select the Associate Rooms to Access Area option from the Actions menu on the Room Access tab if required. The Associate Rooms to Access Area window is displayed. You can use this window to associate the rooms to a specified access area.
- Select Maintain Door Locks. The Maintain Door Locks tab is displayed. The door lock details such as Lock ID, Lock Name and Room Number are displayed.

Speecify this information on the Door Locks section:
- Lock ID
- The Lock ID configured for a room.
- Lock Name
- The nam of the lock configured for a room.
- Lock Number
- The lock number configured for a room.

Click Save
Record.
Note: Select the Mobile Keys Enabled check box in the Interface Settings section to indicate that a mobile room key can be sent to the registered mobile number.
