Viewing RMS recommendation summary

The RMS recommendation summary screen displays a detailed summary of IDeaS Revenue Management System (RMS) recommendations by date.

Property level recommendations display Best Available Rate for one night Length Of Stay. Room Type recommendations display Opportunity Cost, Effective Opportunity Cost, and Overbooking Limit

  • Effective Opportunity Cost: A delta value is used as an adjustment against the base opportunity cost that is used to compute the effective opportunity cost at the specific point in time of the availability check. The computation of the effective opportunity cost is based on the current number of rooms that have been sold for the date since recommendations were last updated.
  • Opportunity Cost: The value of your last room or the rate you could reasonably expect to sell your last available room for.
  • Overbooking Limit: The number of overbooking allowed.

To view RMS recommendations:

  1. Select Rates and Sales > Revenue Management > Recommendations. The RMS Recommendations Summary screen is displayed.
    Note: Different icons identify statuses which are defined in the legend that appears at the top of the Daily Summary tab.
  2. View the recommendations as necessary. Click the Scroll Left and Scroll Right buttons or use the interactive calendar to select the dates for which you want to view the recommendations.
  3. Click the date link. More detailed information regarding recommendations for that date is displayed.
