Posting a charge

Use the Post Charges pop-up to post new charges to an A/R account. You can post a basic charge or a charge that includes one or more charges such as a fee or tax, directly to the A/R account without posting first to the guest ledger folio.

To post a charge:

  1. Select Account Receivable > Property A/R Accounts > Charges.
  2. Click Actions.
  3. Click Post Charge.
  4. Specify this information:
    Confirmation Number
    Specify the confirmation number.
    PO / Reference
    Specify the Purchase Order (PO) or other reference for which you are posting the charge.
    Transaction Code
    Specify the transaction code that you want to use to post the charge.
    Amount
    Specify the amount that you want to post.
    Post Taxes
    If this check box is selected, and you post a charge, the system creates an inclusion charge record for the main charge, and creates one inclusion charge record for each tax transaction that is created based on the tax group definition linked to the transaction code.
    If this check box is selected, and you post an inclusion charge using a transaction code that is configured with a tax group, the system creates one additional inclusion charge record for each tax transaction that is created based on the tax group definition linked to the transaction code.
  5. Alternatively, In the Charge Inclusions section, you can also specify other charges that you want to include along with the main charge.
  6. Click Submit to save the main charge and inclusion charge.
