Shift Cash Report
This report validates current cash and check balances for each currency in the bank and compare them to currency values entered by the user. The report is used as part of the bank closing process to help the cashier balance the cash in their cash bank. You can print the report only after the user has specified the Shift Cash Detail for each currency contained in the bank. The report is available within the Close Bank tab of the Cashier Banking screen and from the reports menu.
Each time this report is printed for a given cash journal ID the system stores the print date/time. All print dates will be printed on the report. This is a security measure to help prevent theft from hotel employees that handle cash. During the cash bank closing process the user enters the amount of cash they have in their bank for each currency. This report shows the comparison between what the user entered and the system values. Generally, the user would print this report one time and would be in balance with the system. If a user is printing this report multiple times it might be an indication that something out of the ordinary is happening that should be investigated.
The report includes the property, date, user, number of times printed, currency, currency balanced, shift cash balance, current cash balance, cash drop, closing cash balance, default amount, shift check balance, current check balance, and the date and time of each time the report was printed including the current print.
You can filter the report by specifying the property, bank ID, journal ID, and currency. You can sort the report by currency or currency balanced.
The following are some of the important points to be noted:
- If a user selects and there are no close bank records for the bank, or user selects a currency that there is no close bank record for, the report prints with the previously printed details and shows the number of times printed with this print included.
- If a user selects the report from the menu and clicks in the tool bar this will count it as a time printed, but if the user selects it will not count.
