Comp accounting overview
The word Comp traces its origin to the word Complimentary. Comp is often used as a verb to describe the action of giving something to a guest free of charge. In casino hotels, it is a common practice to comp room charges, meals, show tickets, and other services based on the amount of money the guest is spending or losing in the casino. Usually, the more the guests spends or loses, the more comps guests are eligible for. For example, the casino manager comps the guests dinner charge because they spent $1,000 at the blackjack table. The Comp module adds the functionality to perform the comp process, which involves taking charges posted to a folio and crediting them off so the guest does not have to pay for the charges. If you select the property parameter CMSINTGcheck box , the Comp Accounting functionality is enabled.
