Plan Service Assignment Using Service Planning Board

This document explains how to plan a Service Assignment using the Service Planning Board. The Service Assignment plan provides a forecast for the Service Assignment and displays a graphical overview of resources and workload.

Use this instruction when you want to plan a Service Assignment using a graphical user interface (GUI).

Outcome

A Service Assignment plan is created using a graphical user interface (GUI). This plan lets users support efficient field service planning and execution.

Before you start

Follow These Steps

  1. Start 'Service Order. Open Assignment' (SOS110), which you access from 'Service Order. Open' (SOS100).

    The program is accessed via option 15 in (SOS100).

  2. To plan a Service Assignment using the planning board and to generate a Gantt Chart, open 'Service Assignment. Open Gantt Chart' (SOS485) using function key F16, from 'Service Assignment. Plan' (SOS110/E) or 'Service Order. Open Assignment' (SOS475).

    The Gantt chart contains information about the Service Assignment, Service Manager and planned start date. The Gantt chart can be called from:

    • 'Service Assignment. Plan' (SOS110) or
    • 'Service Assignment. Open Gantt Chart' (SOS485) or
    • 'Service Assignment. Plan' (SOS475).
  3. The following can be performed using drag and drop or by selecting related options from the Service Assignment in the Gantt chart:

    • Re-schedule Service Assignment, using drag-and-drop with real time update
    • Add and update Service Order lines
    • Print Service Assignments and other documents to communicate with Technicians
    • View information on Service Offices and related Technicians, by entering selections on service managers
    • View important field information
    • Run related options: perform changes in Service Assignment, change status, etc.
    • Send e-mails or GSM text messages regarding the Service Assignments
    • Configure various functions, such as M3 data to be displayed, usage of colors, text etc.
    • Enter the number of days Service Assignments will be displayed (e.g. one day before the selected day and two days after the selected day)
    • Enter a time range for the hours you want to focus (the working hours of the day), such as 08:00 to 18:00.
