Create Preventive Service Activities for Service Agreement

This document explains how you create preventive service activities for a service agreement.

Outcome

A preventive service activity with predefined service expenses and items is connected to an individual item in a service agreement.

The time between the service assignments is based on one of the following:

The preventive service activities are entered for recurrent service assignments where the same work is performed and the same spare parts are used each time.

The following fields are updated when preventive service activities are entered for an individual item:

Before You Start

Follow These Steps

  1. Start 'Service Agrmt. Connect Prevent Service' (SAS130).

    (SAS130) is started from (SAS100) by selecting option 13 = Preventive service in 'Service Agrmt. Open Lines' (SAS120). (SAS120) is started by selecting option 15 = Service agreement lines in 'Service Agrmt. Connect Customer Site' (SAS110), which is started by selecting option 15 = Service location in 'Service Agrmt. Open' (SAS100).

  2. Enter a sequence number in the 'Sequence number' field.

    The sequence number and sequence number suffix are unique for a preventive service activity. When the service activity generates preventive service assignments, all of them will be assigned the same sequence number but with consecutive suffixes.

  3. Enter whether the service interval is to be based on a time interval or meter readings.

    The valid alternatives are:

    1 = Date range

    2 = Meter value range.

  4. Enter where the work and spare parts are to be entered for the preventive service activity in the 'Information type' field.

    The valid alternatives are:

    Service expenses are entered in 'Service Expense. Open' (SOS408).

    7 = Alias number

    Alias numbers are entered in 'Alias Number SO. Connect Item/Serv Exp' (SOS465).

    8 = Error symptom

    Error symptoms are entered in 'Error Symptom Text. Open' (SOS410).

  5. Select the service expense and alias number, or alias numbers, that are used for the work and material connected to the preventive service activity in the Activity field.

  6. Enter the time required to finish the preventive maintenance activity in the 'Planned work hours' field.

    Planned work hours are only entered if the activity entered does not include work.

  7. Select whether the preventive service activity is to generate service assignments immediately.

    The valid alternatives are:

    0 = Create assignment proposal

    1 = Create service order with assignments immediately.

  8. Enter the responsible person and qualification requirements for the preventive maintenance in the fields:

    • Service Manager
    • Technician
    • Qualification.
  9. Enter between which dates the preventive maintenance activities are valid in the 'Valid from' and 'Valid to' fields.

  10. Enter information for a preventive service interval based on time in the fields:

    • Next order date

      The date that must have passed before a new preventive service assignment is generated.

      If the date in this field is less than the date entered in the 'Next order date' field in 'Service Agrmt. Create SO for Prevent Srv' (SAS610), the preventive activity will generate a preventive service assignment.

    • Preventive service interval

      These fields specify the time interval between preventive service activities.

    • Day of week

      This field indicates which day of the week the field service is to be carried out.

    • Day number

      This field indicates which day in the period the field service is to be carried out.

  11. Enter information for a preventive service interval based on meter readings in the fields:

    • Meter number

      The meter which the service interval is based on.

    • Next meter value

      The meter value that must be passed before a new service assignment can be generated for the preventive service activity.

    • Meter value range

      The number of meter units used per preventive service activity interval.

    • From meter value

      The lowest number of meter units used to allow the service activity to generate a service assignment.

    • To meter value

      The highest number of meter units used to allow the service activity to generate a service assignment.
