Migration of Individual Items Including Meters

The auxiliary program 'Individual Item. Convert to Equipment' (SAS925) creates serialized items in 'Equipment/Serialized Item. Open' (MMS240) based on a selected range of individual items from 'Individual Item. Open' (SOS419).

The serialized items are created in (MMS240) through the normal 'Update Individual Item' (MOS936) program which creates the related files MILOMA, MILOIN, MROMIN, MILOMN, MROOPC, MROOPN etc.

Before you start

Before running (SAS925), it is recommended to verify the configuration of the item types and item template of the individual items that will be migrated. This data significantly impacts the data of the individual items after migration to (MMS240).

If migrating individual items with connected meters, it is required to manually create meters in 'Meter. Open' (MMS051) for any meters that should be migrated from (SOS003) or (SOS418). For the connected meter to be migrated to (MAI/MNT), a meter must be created in (MMS051) with the same name (TX15) as the name (TX15) of the meter in 'Item. Enter Meter Information' (SOS003) and 'Individual Item. Open Meter Details' (SOS418). It is recommended to verify the naming of all meters in (SOS003) and (SOS418) and create meters with the same names in (MMS051). If a meter connected to an item in (SOS003) or individual item (SOS418) does not exist in (MMS051), the record is dropped.

Overview

'Individual Item. Convert to Equipment' (SAS925) is split into the sections, Selection and Equipment data. The Selection defines and limits the data that should be migrated from (SOS419). The Equipment Data writes information to the migrated data in (MMS240).

In the Selection section, the fields for individual item number are mandatory. These fields define the range of individual items that will be migrated from (SOS419). Selecting a customer is optional and will, if specified, limit the migration selection to individual items owned by the specified customer. Facility is mandatory and will set the planning facility of the serialized item in (MMS240/G).

In the Equipment data section, the fields 'equipment type' and 'equipment group' can optionally be specified. If specified, this information will be overridden on the serialized item in (MMS240/E).

Migration of Individual Items

When migrating individual items from (SOS419) to (MMS240), the (MMS240) records are created through the standard process and values are populated based on predefined values from templates connected to the item type of the migrated item.

The serial number is created with the following logic:

The following values from (SOS419) and (SAS925) update (MMS240):

'Individual Item. Open' (SOS419) will also create a record in 'Lot/Serial Number. Open/Connect to Item' (MMS235) and update it with the following values:

Migration of Meters Connected to Item and Individual Item

If the individual item is a meter item (MEIT=1) then meters connected to the item in 'Item. Enter Meter Information' (SOS003) and individual item in 'Individual Item. Open Meter Details' (SOS418) are migrated when the (SAS925) job is generated.

Meters from (SOS003) are migrated to 'Item. Connect Meter' (MMS004). All actual meters from (SOS003), M1-M6, can be migrated. The first four meters (M1-M4) will update the planning meters on the item in (MMS001/J).

Meters connected to the individual item in 'Individual Item. Open Meter Details' (SOS418) are migrated to 'Equipment/Ser Item. Open Meter Reading' (MMS241). The current meter reading (the reading with the newest event date) in 'Meter. Display/Update History' (SOS340) will update the relevant meter in (MMS241).

Before running the auxiliary program for migrating individual items, it is required to manually create the meters that should be migrated in (MMS051). If the meter connected to the item or individual does not exist in (MMS051), it will not be migrated. For the connected meter to be migrated to (MAI/MNT), a meter must be created in (MMS051) with the same name (TX15) as the name (TX15) of the meter in (SOS003) and (SOS418).
