The purpose of this procedure is to connect different Drawing Measurement to a product structure so that a value can be changed in different variants of a product.
The drawing measurement connected to the product structure header can then be connected to lines in the bill of material or routing. It can also be printed on manufacturing documents.
Before you can begin to connect a drawing measurement to a product structure, the following prerequisites must be met:
Follow the steps below to connect a drawing measurement to a product structure.
Start 'Product Structure. Open' (PDS001), panel B.
Mark the line and select Draw meas/prod. (option 14) to start 'Product. Connect Drawing Measurements' (PDS081).
Enter the sequence number and drawing measurement, and then create the connection. If the sequence number is not filled in, it is created automatically according to the interval specified in panel P. This panel is called by using functionkey Parameters (F13).
Change the name if necessary. Enter the drawing measurement value, or specify how it should be closed if the drawing measurement should be calculated during a configuration. Then specify how printouts should be made in field Print Control.
Create the connection and then return to opening panel PDS001/B.
Select Mtrl/operation (option 11) to start. 'Product. Connect Materials/Operations' (PDS002) .
Select Draw meas/line (option 18) to start 'Material/Operation. Connect Drawing Meas' (PDS082).
Connect the drawing measurement (which will be printed) to each component and operation. A drawing measurement connected to a component is printed on the material requisition; a drawing measurement connected to an operation is printed on the labor ticket. The drawing measurements are also printed on the design document. Printing is regulated when the measurement is connected to the product structure header in step 4 above.
A drawing measurement is connected to a product structure when using this procedure. It can then be used as information in printouts, calculations, or during the selection of items or material.
