Analyze Maintenance Statistics

This document explains how to display the information that is generated after updating maintenance statistics. The document also describes how to follow up auto-updated statistics.

Outcome

You have statistical information about your operations, maintenance and planning. This includes information about maintenance costs, how much time has been spent on specific machines or production lines and downtime.

The information can, for example, be used to make adjustments to your operation or maintenance processes.

Before you start

Follow These Steps

Analyze Manually Updated Statistics

  1. Start any of the statistics programs. Make sure the B panel is displayed.

    Each of the programs has a specific focus. Please refer to the concept document listed under See Also for further information.

  2. Select a view to display the available information.

Analyze Automatically Updated Statistics

  1. Choose one of the following alternatives:

    • To display a graphical presentation of the statistics, start (MCS400/B) or (MCS410/B).

      Select a site or registration number, a statistics type and a period for which to display statistics. For (MCS400), you also need to specify a configuration position or equipment. For (MCS410), you need to select an sorting order. Press Enter to display the statistics.

      Sorting orders are defined in 'Maintenance Statistics Inq Type. Open' (MCS490).

    • To display actual figures, start (MCS420/B) and Press F13=Settings to display the P panel.

      Select a view, production hours per month and the sorting orders for option 11.

      Two sorting orders need to be specified here. The first one allows you to control what information to display in (MCS430). The second sorting order defines whether the statistics will be displayed per year (YY) or per year and period (YYPP) in (MCS430). It also defines which of the inquiry objects in the sorting order above the information should be sorted by.

      Sorting orders are defined in 'Maintenance Statistics Inq Type. Open' (MCS490).

      Press Enter to return to the B panel.

  2. On the (MCS420/B) panel, select a site/registration number and a position/equipment. Press Enter to display the statistics.

    The statistics will be accumulated to the position you have selected. This means that all data from the levels below will be added through the structure.

    The statistics are displayed per period.

  3. Select option 5=Display to view a record (optional)

    Information about total costs, used labor, machine and setup times, downtime and delay time is displayed. There is also information about the number of work orders and the number of operations and removals.

  4. Highlight a record to be further analyzed and select option 11='Maintenance Statistics' to display (MCS430).

  5. Make sure that you have a valid standard sorting order.

    The standard sorting order sorts the available information. This is done according to the inquiry objects that are specified in the sorting order that was defined in (MCS490). To display the records according to inquiry object 2, select sorting order 5 or 6. To display the records for inquiry object 3, select sorting order 3 or 4.

    Information about total costs, used labor, machine and setup times, downtime and delay time is also available. There is also information about the number of work orders and the number of operations and removals.

    The following options are also available:

    11='Display Operation Transactions'

    12='Display Material Transactions'

    13='Display Purchase Order Transactions'

    14='Work Order Costs'

    15='Work Order Lines'.

    The information that is available in (MCS430) and the programs that can be reached from it allow you to analyze the costs for a position or a machine.
