Importing rule books
Use the import functionality to use the rule books created by other users or to use the rule books created on another Infor GRC server.
- The related Insight is not installed and activated in the application.
- The ERP application linked to the rule book is not installed in the system.
To import a rule book:
- Select Design > Business Controls > Rule Books on the navigation bar.
- Click Import. The Import Rule Books screen is displayed.
- Select the file (.zip, .json, or .xml) to import.

Specify this information:
- Task Name
- The name of the task.
- Rule Book Import Options
- The options to import the rule book.
Possible values:
- Create Copy
A copy of the rule book is imported.
- Keep Existing
The existing rule book is retained.
- Overwrite/Merge from Import
file
The imported rule book overwrites the existing rule book, available in the application.
- Create Copy
- Rule Import Options
- The options to import rules in the rule book.
Possible values:
- Create Copy
A copy of the rule is imported.
- Keep Existing
The existing rules are retained.
- Overwrite/Merge from Import
file
The imported rules overwrite the existing rules, available in the application.
- Replace with Import
File
The existing rules are replaced with the imported rules.
- Create Copy
- Retain existing Exclusions and Compensating Controls
- Select this check box to retain existing exclusions and
compensating controls when importing rules.Note: This check box is not enabled when you select Create Copy option in the Rule Import Options and Condition Import Options fields.
- Condition Import Options
- The options to import conditions.
Possible values:
- Create Copy
A copy of the condition is imported.
- Keep Existing
The existing rule conditions are retained.
- Overwrite/Merge from Import
file
The imported rule conditions overwrite the existing rule conditions, present in the application.
- Create Copy
- Business Controls Ownership
- Select this check box to retain existing owners and users of the
rule books that are imported.Note: This check box is not enabled when you select Create Copy option in the Rule Import Options and Condition Import Options fields.

Click Import.
Note: The Data source details associated with the selected Rule books are not retained when you import the Rule books.
