Mitigating violations

Mitigation is a process of reducing the number of violations in an analysis by excluding the objects that generate violations. Mitigating violations helps in reducing the business risks.

To mitigate violations:

  1. Select Monitor > Violations on the navigation bar. The Violations page is displayed.
    Note: Violations can also be mitigated from the Violation Details page. You can click the arrow option corresponding to a Violation on the Violations page. The Violation Details page is displayed. You can click the Mitigate option to mitigate the violations.
  2. Select the check box corresponding to a violation and click Mitigate. The Mitigate screen displays these tabs:
    • Details
    • History
  3. Specify information on the Details tab based on the Insight selected:
  4. Click the History tab to view details corresponding to the violation that you want to mitigate. You can click the Generate Summary option to generate a summary of the selected violation. The summary includes all details related to the violation.
  5. Click Mitigate. The status of the violation is updated on the Violations page.
    Note: 
    • Closed violations or the violations that already assigned to other reviewers, cannot be mitigated. However, comments can be added to such violations.
    • Mitigations are retained or discarded, if a rule description is modified.
