Mitigating violations

Mitigation is a process of reducing the number of violations in an analysis by excluding the objects that generate violations. Mitigating violations helps in reducing the business risks.

To mitigate violations:

  1. Select Monitor > Violations on the navigation bar. The Violations page is displayed.
  2. Select the check box corresponding to a violation and click Mitigate. The Violation Mitigation screen is displayed.
    Note: Violations can also be mitigated from the Violation Details page. You can click the arrow option corresponding to a Violation on the Violations page. The Violation Details page is displayed. You can click the Mitigate option to mitigate the violations.
  3. Specify the information based on the Insight selected:
  4. Click Mitigate. The status of the violation is updated on the Violations page.
    Note: 
    • Closed violations or the violations that already assigned to other reviewers, cannot be mitigated. However, comments can be added to such violations.
    • Mitigations are retained, if a rule description is modified.
    • Mitigations are discarded, if the rule conditions are modified.
