Working with Functional Areas

Use the Functional Areas page to create or modify functional areas for an approval process.

To create a functional area:

  1. Select Design > Approval Process > Functional Area on the navigation bar and click New to create a new functional area. The New Functional Area page is displayed.
    Note: Alternately, you can click the arrow option corresponding to an existing functional area to modify the functional area.
  2. Specify the information in these sections:
  3. Click Save Scope.
  4. Click Add Scope to add another scope.
    Note: A maximum of five levels of scope (sub-functional areas) can be added.
  5. Click Save after adding the required scopes.

    If you add only one scope, you must add approvers to this scope. However, if you add multiple scopes, only the leaf level approver is considered in the approval stages based on the hierarchical structure.
