Working with Rule Books

Use the Rule Books page to create or modify a rule book.

You can also use this page to create or modify rules in a rule book. See, working with rules.

Note: You can create Rule Books for any custom ERP application. See KB 2226605 for details on creating a custom ERP application using the generic framework.

To create or modify a rule book:

  1. Select Design > Business Controls > Rule Books on the navigation bar and click to create. The New Rule Book page is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Rule Book Name
    The name of the rule book.
    Insight
    The name of the Insight for which the rule book is created. Possible values:
    • Authorizations Insight for Infor
    • Process Insight for Infor
    • Watchlist Insight
    Applications
    The ERP application for which the rule book is created.
    Note: Multiple applications can be selected.
    Data Source
    The data source for which the rule book is created.
    Expiry Date
    The date up to which the rule book is valid.
    Note: When selecting an expiry date, select a date in the future. The rule book expires on the specified date and is not available for analysis after this date.
  3. Enable the Access Status to access the rule book.
  4. Enable the Lock Status to set the status of the rule book to Lock. Locked rule books cannot be modified or enabled/disabled.
  5. Select the Exclude in Provision check box to exclude the rule book or the rules, from a Provision or an Analysis. This field applies to the Authorizations Insight only.
  6. Specify additional information related to the risks associated with the rule book on the Descriptiontab.
  7. Add the reference documents from IDM (Infor Document Management) or from a third party for additional information, on the Supporting Documentation tab. Select the details and click Add. The selected documents are displayed at the bottom of the New Rule Book page. Click the document to review the details.
  8. Click the Ownership tab to assign owners and users for this rule book. Specify this information:
    Owners
    The users assigned the role of an Owner for the rule book.

    Owners have full administrative access to the rule book. Owners can:

    • Control the access status and the lock status of the rule book.
    • Add or delete exclusions and compensating control details in a rule book.
    • Add other owners to the rule book.
    Users
    The users assigned the role of a User for the rule book.

    Users can only review the rule book and are restricted from adding or removing the Owners and Users from a rule book.

  9. Click Save. The rule book is displayed on the Rule Books page.
