Assigning violations to another user

An Administrator or an Owner of a rule can take the ownership of the violations for review or assign the violations to another user for review. To assign the violations to a user for review, the user must be assigned to one of these roles:

  • An Administrator.
  • An Owner of the rule.
  • A rule user.
  • A custom role with the appropriate permissions.
    Note: When you assign violations to a user, an email notification is sent to the user.

To assign the violations to a user:

  1. Select Monitor > Violations on the navigation bar. The Violations page is displayed.
  2. Select the check box corresponding to a violation and click . The Assign screen is displayed.
    Note: Violations can also be assigned from the Violation Details page. You can click corresponding to a violation on the Violations page. The Violation Details page is displayed. You can click to assign violations to another user.
  3. Specify this information:
    Violating Objects
    The objects that have generated violations.
    Assign To
    The user assigned to review the violation.
    Status
    The status of the violation.
    Note: You can only review the information displayed in this field.
    Mark this Violation as Urgent
    Select this check box to indicate that the violation requires immediate action.
    Comments
    Additional information related to the assignment of the violation.
    Note: All the information related to the assignment is displayed in the History section.
  4. Click Assign. The violation is assigned to the selected user.
    Note: 
    • If a Closed violation is assigned to a user, the status of the violation changes to Re-opened and action can by performed on this violation. The history data related to the violation are maintained.
    • If the user who is assigned to a violation, is deleted from the application, the status of the violation changes from Under Review to Open. You can click Comments to review the reason.
