Working with Compensating Controls

Use the Compensating Controls page to create compensating controls.

Note: If you have the required privileges, you can also create compensating controls when:
  • Creating a new rule.
  • Assigning compensating controls to the objects excluded from the rules, on the Exclusions page.
  • Mitigating violations from the Violations page.

To create a compensating control:

  1. Select Design > Business Controls > Compensating Controls on the navigation bar and click to create a compensating control. The New Compensating Control page is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Name
    The name of the compensating control.
    Enable
    Enable the compensating control to set the status of the compensating control to Enable.
    Control Text
    The description of the compensating control.
    Valid From
    The date from which the compensating control is valid.
    Valid Through
    The date up to which the compensating control is valid.
    Supporting Documentation
    Add reference documents from IDM (Infor Document Management) or from a third party for additional information, on the Supporting Documentation tab. Select the details and click Add. The selected documents are displayed at the bottom of the page. Click the document to view the details.
  3. Click Save.

    The compensating control is displayed on the Compensating Controls page. You can assign rules to a compensating control. See Assigning rules to a compensating Control.
