Using succession planning by positions
You can view the positions list of all your direct reports and the potential successors for their roles.
Each position includes relevant details such as organization unit and importance, whether the position is categorized as key, critical, both, or none.
- Select Succession Planning > Positions.

To view the potential successors for the role, click on a position.
If identified successors exist for the role, their names and succession details are displayed on the Potential Successors section.

In the Potential Successors section, you can add a successor to a pool and
delete, confirm, or calculate fit a potential successor from the position.
- To add a successor to a pool, click Create.

Specify this information:
- Employee
- Specify the employee to add to the succession
pool.
The value in the Position field is based on the selection from the positions list.
- Status
- Specify the status of the employee's placement to the position.
- Recommendation Date
- Specify the date on when the employee is recommended for the position.
- Readiness
- Specify the timeline on when the employee is ready for the position.
- Pool Source
- Specify the method by which the employee is considered for the pool.
- Comments
- Provide comments to add information about adding the employee to the succession pool.
- Click Submit.
- To delete an employee from the list of potential successors, select the employee then click Delete.
- To confirm a potential successor, select the employee with Proposed status and select Actions > Confirm.
- To assess if the employee's qualifications align with the requirements of the selected position, select Actions > Calculate Fit.
- To view the employee's profile, click View Full Profile.
- To view a visual representation of potential successors based on performance and potential, click Chart View.

To change the employee's performance or potential, click Chart View then drag the employee
records.
For example, drag an employee record from the high performance indicator to middle performance indicator.
