Using succession planning by bench strength by team

You can view the list of all your direct reports who are considered as a potential successors for a specific position.

Each employee include relevant details such as employment ID and the organization unit they belong to.

  1. Select Succession Planning.
  2. Click the Bench Strength By Team tab.
  3. To assess if the employee's qualifications align with the requirements of the selected position, click Calculate Fit.
  4. Select an employee and view detailed insights about the employee's succession plan on these tabs:
    • Fit Analysis: Displays a spider chart (radar) comparing the employee’s skills and attributes (resource) against the role’s requirements (position).

      Below the chart are details on how the successor matches the role, how the match is recalculated, the qualifications, and other role requirements.

    • Fit Gaps: Displays different list of activities that enable managers to take proactive steps in bridging skill gaps by assigning, updating, or viewing activities.

      You can suggest activities that might help the employees meet the role requirements by clicking Recommendations.

    • Pools: View all the position and talent pools and manage talent pipelines to ensure employees are assessed, developed, and tracked for future leadership roles.

      The manager can add, delete, confirm, if proposed, calculate fit, and view options for their succession strategy.

      On the Pools tab, you can see these two sections:
      • Succession Pools: Includes specific positions where an employee is considered as a successor. You can add a successor to a pool and delete, confirm, or calculate fit a potential successor from the position.

        The Qualification Fit column shows the percentage on how well the employee’s qualifications align with the role.

        The Behavioral Fit column shows the percentage compatibility based on behavioral expectations.

        The Status column indicates if the employee’s pool placement is confirmed or still proposed.

        The Readiness column shows the successor’s preparedness status.

      • Talent Pools: Includes general talent pools where employees are grouped based on their potential. You can add a successor to a pool and delete, confirm, or calculate fit a potential successor from the talent pool.

        The Qualification Fit column shows how the measure aligns with the talent pool criteria.

        The Status column indicates whether the employee’s participation is proposed or confirmed.

        The Readiness column shows the successor’s preparedness status: Ready Now, Not Ready, or a specified time frame.
