Planning for security entity

Review your organizational structure to determine which organization units to mark as security entities with Is An Entity.

You might have multiple employers within your organizational structure with unique setup elements, such as jobs and positions. To exclude access from other parts of the organization, mark the organization unit as a security entity.

For example: Hospital A has jobs that HR Administrators in Hospital B do not see. Mark Hospital A as a security entity and create jobs that are only for that security entity.

Within an organization structure organization units many organization units exist. A subset of those may be a security entity.

  • HR Organization Units 63 (OR), 64 (ICU), and 71 (ER) report up to Organization Unit 62 (River Bend Hospital).
  • HR Organization Unit 62 is flagged “Is An Entity”.
  • Data is defined by Security Entity = 62.
  • ActorOrgUnit module administrators who are responsible for HR Organization Units 62, 63, 64 or 71 use this setup data:
    • Setup data is defined for Security Entity = 62.
    • Setup data with a blank Security Entity is set up by the module administrator.
