Setting first case number used

As a configuration administrator, you can specify the numeric sequence of the case numbers that are used in the system. You specify the number of the last case. Then the first case that is created in the system is assigned one number higher than the number that is specified.
  1. Select Administration > Setup.
  2. In the Primary pane, click Application Settings.
  3. Double-click an organization record.
  4. On the General tab, specify the number that precedes the first case number in the Last Case Number Used field.
  5. Click Save.
