Adding resources

As an administrator, you can manually add a new resource and resource information without an approval process.
  1. In HR Administration, select Resources > Resource Search.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    On the At A Glance tab:
    Employment ID
    If the organization does not use automated employment ID numbering, an employment ID is required.

    If the organization uses auto-numbering, leave this field blank.

    Personal Information
    Specify personal information about the resource.
    Home Country
    Select the resource's home country if it is different from the organization. This field can be important for geographic differential salaries and country-specific attributes.
    Relationship to Organization
    Select the resource's relationship to the organization.
    Relationship Status
    Required. Select the resource's relationship status.
    Legacy Employment Number
    If a new employment ID is being assigned to an existing employee, specify the old employment ID. For example, another company is acquired by your company and the employees from the other company is merged with your company's employees.
    Work Type
    Select the resource's work type.
    Working Remotely
    Select this check box if a resource is working remotely. For example, working from a home office rather than in the company office.
    Wait For Credential Before Interfacing To WFM
    Select this check box if the WFM interface should wait for a credential value (actor or identity depending on the interface setup) to be created before sending the resource record to Infor Workforce Management. If this check box is not selected, the record is sent through the interface immediately. This field defaults to the value specified during the interface setup.
    Note: This check box is only displayed if the Workforce Management check box is selected during the interface setup.

    Current Name
    Specify the resource's current legal first, middle (if applicable), and last name.
    Preferred Name
    Specify the resource's preferred first, middle, or last name, if applicable.
    Former Name
    Specify the resource's former name, if applicable.
    Title
    Specify the resource's title.
    Suffix
    Specify the suffix, such as Jr., to the resource's name, if applicable.
    Professional
    Specify the resource's professional designation, such as Doctor, if applicable.

    On the Dates & Service tab:

    Start Date
    Specify the start date.
    Adjusted Start Date
    Specify the adjusted start date if it is not the same as the start date.
    Continuous Employment Date
    This date would apply if a resource is being rehired after a lapse of employment. The organization would decide which date to use as the start date for the purpose of benefits eligibility.
    First Day Worked
    Specify the first day that the resource works for the organization.
    Anniversary
    Specify the date from which a resource's anniversary is calculated.
    Seniority
    Specify the date on which to base seniority-related benefits.
    Termination Notice
    Specify the date on which the resource was given or gave his or her termination notice.
    Termination
    Specify the date on which the resource was terminated.
    Eligible For Rehire
    Select this option if the resource can be rehired in the future.
    Last Date Worked
    Specify the last date on which the resource worked.
    Last Date Paid
    Specify the last date on which the resource was paid.
    Retirement Date
    Specify the date on which the resource retired.
    Date of Death
    Specify the date on which the resource died. If you specify a Date of Death, also select the Deceased checkbox.
    Other Dates
    Specify the resource's birth date.

    You can also specify other dates that are significant and are not listed on this option. For example, you can use Other Dates 1 to 5 as starting dates for trial periods.

  4. Click Save.
    If the organization uses auto-numbering, the resource is assigned a number. Other tabs then become available to add information.
  5. Open the resource's record and update it as needed.
    Some of this information can also be updated by the resource itself in the Employee view or by the resource's manager in the Manager view.
  6. Define or update the resource's work assignment or assignments.
    The work assignment determines the resource's pay and position in the organization and manager structures.
  7. Click Save.
