Creating veteran types

Large organizations are usually required to track their veteran employees. A veteran classification may make a resource eligible for certain privileges and protections.

  1. From HR Administration, select Administration > Setup.
  2. In the Personal pane, click Veteran Types.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Specify an effective date.

    Veteran Type

    Required. Specify the veteran type name. For example, VIETNAM, IRAQ.

    Description

    Specify a description for the veteran type. If left blank, the veteran type name defaults.

    Country

    If this veteran type is associated with a country, select the country.

    Active

    Select this check box to make the veteran type active. The veteran type is active by default. Clear the check box to inactivate it.

    VETS 4212 Protected

    Select this check box if this veteran type has protected status as defined by the US Department of Labor.

  5. Click Save.
