Creating or updating the pay rate for a work assignment

As an administrator, you can create or update the pay rate of a work assignment.
  1. In HR Administration, select Resources.
  2. Click the Work Assignment Search tab.
  3. Search for a work assignment to update.
  4. Right-click the work assignment and select Change Pay Rate to create a new work assignment or open the work assignment to update it.
  5. Specify the effective date.
  6. Optionally, specify this additional information about the pay rate change:
    Action Reason

    Select the circumstance that is causing the rate change.

    Pay Rate Type

    If you have permission to update this field, select the type of pay. For example, Annual salary.

    Number Of Months
    If it is an assignment of limited duration, specify the number of months to which the new pay rate applies.
    Percent Increase
    If it is an add-on percent of pay rate, specify the percentage.
  7. Click a link to display the Pay Element Group page, then specify this information:
    Begin Date
    Specify the date on which the changed pay begins.
    End Date
    Specify the date on which this pay rate stops being paid.
    Multiple
    Specify a multiple of base pay, if appropriate. For example, 1.5 for time and a half.
    Pay Rate Type
    Select from predetermined pay-rate types. For example, Hourly.
    Pay Frequency
    Select from predetermined pay frequencies. For example, Biweekly.
    Include in Interface
    Select this check box to show the pay rate in the application.
    Informational Only
    Select this check box to exclude this other pay from all calculated rates.
    Display In Contract
    Select this check box if this other pay should display in the employment contract.
    Include In Total Pay Rate
    Select this check box to include the allowance in the total pay rate calculation for the resource.
    Include In Target Compensation
    Select this check box to include this allowance in target compensation calculations

    Target compensation is the potential maximum earnings an employee may receive in a goal-based or performance-based compensation plan.

  8. Click Ok.
  9. Optionally, specify this information:
    Comment
    Specify an explanatory comment.
    Attachment
    Complete the Description and Attach Supporting Document fields for an explanatory file to upload to the record.
  10. Click Submit or Save As Draft.
