Configuring tips for pay summary groups
- As payroll administrators, select Payroll > Administration > Setup.
- In the Structure pane, click Pay.
- On the Pay Summary Groups tab, open the pay summary group to configure tips for.
- On the Payroll tab, specify this information:
- Tips

Select one of these options:
- Direct: Tips that are directly received from customers.
- Indirect: Tips that are not directly received from customers, such as a tip out.
Note: When you set a pay summary group's Tips field to Direct or Indirect, use the field for reported tips only. Leave the Tips field blank for pay summary groups with regular wages and other payments, such as overtime, shift differential, and bonuses.
- Click Save.
- Navigate to the Pay Summary Group Relations tab.
- Add the pay summary group relations.
Note: You cannot update the pay summary group Tips field from Direct or Indirect to Blank when the pay summary group is included in the pay summary group relationship of the Tips pay class.
- Click Save.
