Defining employee year-end parameters

The data items are used in the generation of the information and amounts for T4, T4A, Releve 1, and Releve 2 reporting.

Defining Canadian employee year-end parameters

In the Canadian Employee Configurable Fields > Employment Codes section, select the applicable employment codes. These data items are used on the T4 slip in Box 29 Employment Code.

In the Canadian Employee Configurable Fields > Pension section, specify this information.

  • Create T4 For A Pension Adjustment Only Employee or Create a T4A For A Pension Adjustment Only Employee: Select any of these check boxes when employees only have pension adjustments and no other payments, and have the CSV and XML file create.
  • Pension amount: Specify the pension amount, pension adjustment amount, and plan registration number for the employee.
  • Benefit plan: Select the benefit plan code. The benefit plan uses the defined Registration Number for Box 50 (T4) and Code 36 (T4A).

These data items are used for T4,T4A processing as noted.

In the Canadian Employee Configurable Fields > Other information section, specify this information.

  • Number of Days Outside Canada: This value is used on the T4 slip in Box 73.
  • Indian Employee: This value is used on the T4 slip in Box 71.
  • Employee Died Within The Year: This value is used on the T4 slip in Box 52.
  • Code 66 and 68 Exempt Amounts: Specify the eligible retiring allowance annual dollar amount that was not subject to Federal income tax at the time it was paid.
  • Code 67 and 69 Exempt Amounts: Specify the non-eligible retiring allowance annual dollar amount that was not subject to Federal income tax at the time it was paid.
  • Box 45 and 015 Employer Offered Dental: Specify whether an employee is eligible for dental benefit.

Defining employee Quebec year-end parameters

For Releve 1, during the generation of amended or cancelled Releve 1 CSV or XML files, the system utilizes and references the records specified in Employee Configurable Fields > Employee Quebec Year End Parameters > Releve 1 to recreate the output files.

For Releve 2, the data items are used in the generation of the slip numbers and amounts for Releve 2 reports, slips and files. When generating RL-2 files, the system references any record defined under Employee Configurable Fields > Employee Quebec Year End Parameters > Releve 2. If there are records defined, the values override any corresponding values set in Year End Configurable Fields > Releve 2.

On the Employee Configurable Fields > Employee Quebec Year End Parameters > Releve 2 tab, specify this information.

  • Box N: Specify the contributor social insurance number.
  • Additional Information: Specify the retirement, disability pension, and single payment information.
  • Box PROVENANCE DES REVENUS: Specify the applicable code 210 and 235 amounts.

Defining amend or cancel employee Quebec Releve 2 year-end parameters

During the generation of Amended or Cancelled Releve 2 CSV or XML files, the system utilizes and references the records specified in Employee Configurable Fields > Amend Or Cancel Employee Quebec Releve 2 Year End Parameters to recreate the output files.
