Creating questions in the question library

The question library stores all the questions to be used for continuous performance programs.

Ensure that the Enable Question Library for Pulse Survey and Populate Question Library Value For Employee New Check In Question are enabled to use questions for Pulse Survey and allows administrators to enable questions for check-ins or transitions.

By default, IsPulseSurveyCategory is set to true in Continuous Performance Question Library, and the Continuous Performance Question Library value is populated in the EmployeeNewCheckInQuestion business class.

See Infor HR Talent User and Administration Library (Cloud and On-premises) and select Administration > Utilities > Feature Toggles and System Utilities > Customer Updates.

  1. Select Administration.
  2. In the Pulse pane, click Question Library.
  3. Click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Question
    Specify the question.
    Response Type
    Select a response type from the list.
    • Short Text: Text for up to 100 characters
    • Long Text: Text for up to 250 characters
    • Yes No: Yes or No
    • Yes No Text Yes or No and a text description
    • Rating Scale: Selection from defined rating levels
    • List: Selection from a list of values
    Note: Ensure that you select the Check‑In check box to add the questions to the Check‑In Pulse Questions.
  5. Click Save.
  6. If you select Rating Scale as the Response Type, select the rating scale that defines the available rating levels, and then click Save.
  7. If you selected List for the Response Type, you must specify the Appraisal List Value that provides the options the employee can select when answering the question.
    1. In the Appraisal List Value section, click Create.
    2. Specify a description.
    3. Click Save or Save and New.
  8. To categorize pulse questions, you can select Pulse Survey, Check-In, and Transition.

    By default, Pulse Survey is enabled.

    Select Check-In if the question is intended for use in Employee Engagement check-ins.

    Select Transition if the question is intended for use in Transition Management.

  9. To add the question to a pulse survey program:
    1. Right-click the question and select Add.
    2. Select the pulse survey program.
    3. Click Submit.
