Requesting expense account budget
You can create or request a new budget by Expense Account.
See Infor HR Talent User and Administration Library (Cloud and On-premises) and select User > Position Monitoring.
Planning Level = Expense Account
- Select Jobs and Positions > Position Monitoring > Position Budgets.
- Select a position plan.
- Click the Budgets tab.
- Click Create to create a budget request that does not require approval.
Optionally, click Request A New Budget to request a budget which is sent for approval.
- Specify this information:
- Budget Date
- Specify a budget date range for the position plan.
- Ledger
- Select the position for which you want to define a budget.
- Accounting Entity
- Specify the accounting entity required for the planning level of expense accounts.
- Specify the Accounting Unit, Account, and Project fields to create a new budget.

The Finance Dimension 1 and 2 fields are displayed and are optional.
Note: You can define multiple budgets for the same position, but with different start dates. When a budget action is taken that includes the position, the effective date of the Hire action determines which budget to apply.
- FTE
- If the position plan budgets by FTE, then specify the budgeted FTE for the position.
- Headcount
- If the position plan budgets by headcount, then specify the budgeted headcount for the position.
- Salary
- If the position plan budgets by salary, then specify the budgeted salary for the position and the currency in which the salary is expressed.
- When you save the budget, the salary amount is converted to the position plan currency.
- Budget Reason
- Select a reason for defining the budget. Budget reasons are defined in Administration > Set with a subject of HCMPositionPlanBudget.
- Comments
- Optionally, add comments about the budget.
- Click Save.
The budget is displayed after it is approved.
