Requesting a new budget

Managers can view the budget variance report and submit requests to make budget changes as long as the position plan is active.

The FTE, Headcount, Salary, and Currency fields are enabled for update. Other fields depend on the specified position plan planning level.

  1. Select Hiring.
  2. Click the Positions and Budgets tab.
  3. In the Position Monitoring pane, click Position Budget Variance.
  4. Select an active position plan and click the Request A New Budget button.
    Fields displayed depend on the active position plan selected. Position plans vary from Job, Position, HROrganizationUnit, or a combination based on the position plan.
  5. Specify this information:
    Budget Reason
    Select a reason for a new budget request.
    Comments
    Provide any additional information if applicable.
    Position Plan
    Specify the creation date of the position plan.
    Position Plan Version
    Specify the version of the position plan.
    Budget Date
    Specify the request date of the new budget.
    Position
    Specify a position plan.
    FTE
    If the position plan budgets by FTE, then specify the budgeted FTE for the job.
    Headcount
    If the position plan budgets by headcount, then specify the budgeted headcount for the job.
    Salary
    If the position plan budgets by salary, then specify the budgeted salary for the job and the currency in which the salary is expressed. When you save the budget, the salary amount is converted to the position plan currency.
  6. Click Submit for the approval of the Position Budget Approver.
