Setting up security entities

Before setting up security entities, ensure that the actors have been set up correctly:

  • Determine which actors must have access to the Organization Units within the new security entities.
  • Assign ActorOrgUnit module administrator roles to the designated actors.
  • Set up ActorOrgUnit records for the actors. Adding these records automatically creates Security Entity Actor records that are viewable on the Security Entity Access tab.
  • Verify that the Security Entity Actor relationship was created. This relationship controls the actor's access to set up data within the application.

Use this procedure to set an organization unit as a security entity.

  1. From HR Administration, select Administration > Setup.
  2. In the Structure pane, click Organization Units.
  3. Select an organization unit.
  4. Click Open.
  5. On the Detail tab, select the Is An Entity check box.
  6. Click Save.
