Canada MIS Reporting

As an administrator, you can enable Canada MIS Reporting for your organization. Canada MIS Reporting captures and maintains Broad Occupational Group (BOG) and Occupational Class (OCC) values for required Canadian healthcare reporting. BOG and OCC values must be populated in HR Talent to support accurate reporting for Canadian requirements.

When Canada MIS Reporting is enabled, BOG and OCC fields are displayed on Positions and Work Assignments. BOG and OCC values are defined at the Position level and are automatically populated during the creation of a Work Assignment for the position. You can override the BOG and OCC values on Work Assignment.

Reports, alerts, and actions are provided to identify missing or inconsistent data and maintain data integrity.

Enabling Canada MIS Reporting

Before enabling this feature, ensure HR Payroll is active. The BOG and OCC fields are available only for Canadian locations. After BOG or OCC data exists on Positions or Work Assignments, the feature can’t be disabled to prevent loss of required reporting data.
  1. Select Administration > Setup.
  2. In the Structure pane, click Organizations.
  3. Select and open an organization to configure.
  4. Click the Country Configurable Fields tab.
  5. Open a Canada record.
    1. If there is no Canada record, click Create.
    2. In the Country/Jurisdiction field, select CA.
    3. Select an effective date and click Save.
    4. Open the record.
  6. On the Configurable Fields tab, select Canada MIS Reporting.
Selecting the Canada MIS Reporting check box enables Canada MIS reporting and makes the Broad Occupational Group and Occupational Class fields available on Positions and Work Assignments.
  7. Select an effective date and click Save.

Synchronizing BOG and OCC Values

To ensure accurate Canada MIS reporting, you can synchronize BOG and OCC values between Positions and Work Assignments. When discrepancies or missing values are detected, an action is available to update Work Assignments with the BOG and OCC values defined on the Position. This process helps maintain consistent occupational data across the organization and supports compliance with Canadian reporting requirements.

Running the update will populate BOG and OCC for each employee whose Work Assignment is missing these values, provided the location is in Canada. Confirmation messages are displayed to indicate successful updates, and the feature helps resolve data integrity issues flagged by system alerts or reports.

  1. Select Jobs And Positions.
  2. Click the Components tab.
  3. In the Positions pane, click Update Canada Occupational Class.
  4. Optionally, you can update these values in the position list.
    1. From Jobs and Positions, click the Positions tab.
    2. Right-click the record on which an alert is displayed and select Update Broad Occupational Group/Occupational Class on Work Assignments.
