Maintaining competency groups

You can perform some maintenance activities on the competency groups list. If you inactivate a competency group, it cannot be attached to a competency model. You cannot inactivate a competency group after it is attached to a competency model.
  1. Select Qualifications.
  2. Click the Components tab.
  3. In the Groups pane, click Competency Groups.
  4. Use these actions to maintain the competency group:
    • To inactivate a competency group, right-click the group and select Update. Specify an effective date and clear the Active check box. Click Save.
    • To update a competency group, right-click the group and select Update. Specify your updates, including an effective date, and click Save.
    • To add a skill or competency, select a competency group. In the Competencies and Skills section, click the More Actions button and select Attach Competency And Skill. Select a skill or competency and specify an effective date. Click Save.
    • To remove a skill or competency from the competency group, highlight the skill or competency on the competency group list. In the Competencies and Skills section, click the More Actions button and select Detach Competency And Skill. Click OK to confirm. Specify an effective date when prompted.
    • To delete a competency group, select a competency group, and click Delete. Click OK to confirm. Specify an effective date when prompted.
      Note: You cannot delete a competency group that is attached to a competency model.
