Record of Employment reporting

A Record of Employment (ROE) is an official document that is issued by employers when an employee experiences interruption of earnings.

The ROE provides essential information about an employee’s work history which includes the start and end dates of employment, hours worked, and earnings.

This document is essential for employees who are applying for Employment Insurance (EI) benefits, as it provides the government with the necessary information to determine eligibility and benefit amounts.

The ROE program generates a summary of all information required to complete an ROE document. This program supports compliance with Canadian regulatory requirements and streamlines the process for payroll administrators.

Before you generate the ROE XML output file, you must complete these steps:

  1. Configure the ROE parameters, including the default values for pay classes.
  2. Run the Mass Add ROE Employees action to populate employee lists for processing.
  3. Manage Employee Configurable Fields for ROE data entry and overrides.
